The Northeast Chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Washington is a volunteer‑driven group of riders, packers, and trail stewards dedicated to protecting access to our public lands. We work to keep trails open, safe, and enjoyable for everyone — equestrians, hikers, and all who value Washington’s backcountry.
Our members put in real, hands‑on effort: clearing downed trees, repairing tread, maintaining trailheads, and partnering with land managers to support sustainable recreation. We believe in giving back to the places we ride, preserving the backcountry experience for future generations.
Whether you ride a horse, mule, or simply care about the outdoors, you’re welcome here. We’re a community built on service, camaraderie, and a shared love of the rugged landscapes of Northeast Washington.

2. To work to ensure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.
3. To assist the various government and private agencies in their maintenance and management of said resource.
4. To educate, encourage and solicit active participation in the wise use of the back country resource by horsemen and the general public commensurate with our heritage.
5. To foster and encourage new members in NEBCHW and BCHW.
